VIVS PROFILE HEADSHOT.jpg

Vivian Boswell is an artist with a past; and she uses all the disparate skills gained from previous places and times in making the wildlife drawings and paintings she creates today. She began her career at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. Later came advertising art in pen and ink, logo and lettering design, illustration and design for the children’s market, then native wildflower botanical painting.

Many different people and environments have influenced Vivian. But the rural places she’s lived are at the heart of the artwork she does now…the farm where she grew up, a remote beach house on the Florida gulf coast, and a country house on a creek with an old grist mill in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks.

She says, “My place on the creek has had an especially profound effect on my recent work. Living in a landscape of cedars and sycamores, bluffs, rocks, mosses, ferns, wildflowers, with wild animals all around is simply irresistible to an artist. In my drawing and painting I hope to capture some of the essence of it.

The Ozarks are a feast for the eyes and a perfect source for inspiration. "I fall in love with every critter, leaf, and twig I paint.”

Vivian has exhibited her work nationwide and won many awards.

She is represented by Paderewski Fine Art Galleries in Beaver Creek, CO., and Nashville, TN., and the Sportsman Gallery in Charleston, SC.
